Next Event – Open Indoor Dressage at N.R.C 26th February 2012

The start of the ‘2012 Dressage Leagues’ will begin with the first competition at the end of February at Northern Racing College.
All the classes will be Equestrian Life Qualifier’s which cost nothing extra to be included (no registration cards this year) and anyone scoring 62% or more in all the classes will qualify for the finals at Sheepgate in March 2012.

Tests will be IB, P7, P18, N27 and E42. Entry forms can now be downloaded from the Events Diary page.

The NEW 2012 Club schedule is now on the ‘Events Diary’ page!
The cost per class will be just £3 or4 classes for £10! Amazing value.

More Jumping Classes, more Ridden Showing Classes, In Hand Classes, Best Riding Club Type Classes, Novice and Open Working Hunter Classes and much more….
Members will also be able to ride more than one horse or pony at Club Shows.

Open One Day Challenge! – 1st April 2012

The schedule is now on the Events Diary Page. PRE- ENTRY ONLY.
This is a new event which will be similar to a Mini One Day Event with dressage, show jumping and working hunter jumping phases, or you can just do the two jumping phases.
There will also be Dressage Practice for anyone wanting to practice their test riding – this wont be a competition though.

29 July – Open Dressage

26 August – Open Charity & Horseman’s Sunday Show
16 September – Open Dressage, Club Dressage & Combined Training
7 October – Open Show or Open One Day Challenge – event type to be confirmed.
November – Open Indoor Dressage – Venue and date to be confirmed.

Also, for those of you interested in representing the club as individuals or as part of a team in BRC Area 16 Qualifiers the dates are as follows:

4 March – Festival of the Horse Challenge (Show Cross)- At Osberton
22 April – Festival of the Horse Combined Training- At Brooksby
4 June – Horse Trials- At Shelford
10 June – Dressage- At Sheepgate
T.B.C – Show Jumping & Style Jumping – At Eagle Moor – Possibly in June.

Schedules will be available in due course. The ‘new’ Club Show Schedule should be finalised in January.

Open Indoor Dressage – 13th November 2011

The final competition in the inaugural ’2011 Dressage Leagues’ brought out a record number of entries - 96, and a full days competition! Due to the high number of entries we also decided to split the classes into seperate Junior and Senior. It’s great to see so many young riders showing an interest in dressage.

The classes were all competitive and places at the top of the leagues were finally decided, some just as the sun went down! Congratulations to the League winners:
Intro League: Sarah Lee and Sidney,
Prelim League: Jo Wilson and Leo,
Novice/Elementary League: Stephanie Rapson and Folly’s Dance.
The Highest Placed Junior’s were:
Intro League: Hannah Comery and Gallois Champagne Charlie,
Prelim League: Lauren Hand and Dillan’s Destiny
Novice/Elementary League: Anna Griffin and Galaxy.
Everyone commented on how nice the trophies and rosettes were and I think many of the competitors have their eye on winning them next year!
We would like to thank all the judges, writers, helpers and of course competitors for making the dressage competitions so popular and successful this season and we look forward to starting again in February 2012.

2012 Subscriptions are now due

Subscriptions for the 2012 season are now due! The price has remained the same as last year £25 for existing members (which rises to £27 if not paid by January 31st) and £27 for new members.

Please send your cheque (payable to Tickhill Riding Club) and completed membership form to: Sally McHale – TRC Secretary, 3 Thorpe Avenue, Whitwell, Worksop, Notts. S80 4PU. If you didn’t join last year or any of your details have changed please complete a membership form.

We now have a new Membership Form which both new and existing members are to fill in. This is so we can update our records and get some additional information e.g. email and mobile phone numbers etc. from exisitng members.

Dressage & Combined Training – 25th September 2011

There was a fantastic number of entries (just shy of 80) for our always popular annual Combined Training /Dressage Competition. This meant having to have 2 dressage rings (a first I think for an event held at he Club Field) and having to rope in some extra helpers. Thank you to everyone who helped the day run as smoothly as possible.
The intermittent rain whilst a shame didn’t ruin the day and everyone seemed to enjoy the competition

Yet again another well attended Open Show despite changing the date quite late, the Bank Holiday show dates have proved rather popular this year!

Puissance – 14th August 2011

The final club show of 2011 saw the annual ‘Roger Stubbins Memorial Puissance Trophy’ classes which were keenly fought out in all the age groups.

Congratulations to the winners: 12 years and under – Equal 1st: Shannan Dickenson & McKenzie Brailsford = 87cm, 13 to 16 years – Jessica Hand = 97cm and 17 years and over – Donna Eves = 1.30m!

Thankfully the rain from last year didn’t return and instead glorious sunshine which although preferable to rain became a little too much by the afternoon.

Yet again lots of new faces and everyone seemd to enjoy the days varied events. The dog jumping was once again one of the most popular classes!
